Do you mean the Higgs boson? I think its a great discovery. It solves a lot of the problems with particle theory about how objects clump together to make “stuff” but also adds a lot more questions. A hundred years ago nobody knew what an electron was, and now all our TVs, phones, computers and pretty much anything electronic are based on this understanding.

Higgs was a professor at Edinburgh University, where I went, and I’ve also visited CERN, making a discovery that this hypothetical particle actually exists is a massive deal.. and it’s always nice to be proved right! They were searching for a long time!
The thing about science is that all of our understanding comes from some initial hypotheses and this can cause lots of controversy as different scientists always have different explanations of how things came to be.. Sometimes they’re right and sometimes they’re wrong

I think it’s a great discovery…In physics, you can never prove a theory, you can only disprove it.

It is a great discovery as far as physics goes but the real applications of the same will take a long time to come by. Some how the idea of calling it “God’s Particle” does not please my physics brain. I believe there are many more things in the physics world more interesting / as interesting as the Higgs Boson.

Its a great discovery! This will keep science very busy for decades! This is just another example of how little we actually know. There is so much more to explore and we need future scientists like you who can do an even better job than us!
