Hi Kelly, I’m not sure if this is what you mean but recently I took part in the Big Bang Science Fair at the Excel in London, where I explained to a lot of school pupils about my work in Medical Physics. The students ranged from very young to A-level so I had to aim it appropriately. We had an ultrasound scanner on display and a mock radiation contamination incident which was interactive and good fun! A lot of people don’t know about Medical Physics or the opportunities that are open to you if you study a Physics degree, so I like to do my bit to promote this!

Hi Kellie I am also not sure if this is what you mean but I am currently talking to a lot of schools to invite them to an event that I am organising here at York. I am working together with NASA on this an it is called the international space apps challenge. Have a look at http://www.spaceappschallenge.org. It is a really cool event where NASA asks participants to develop new apps or to work on creative tasks for example what would you do if you where in charge of the space program? I’d love to have your class here with us, too! Please ask your teacher to contact me if you would like to come and join us for some crazy science days! 🙂
