• Question: have you ever been in the news before and if so why?

      Nope I have never been in the news before. BBC made a documentary (Horizon: Defeating Cancer) on The Royal Marsden NHS Trust / Institute of Cancer Research last year whilst I was working there.

      I was in the news before for a tractor driving competition when I was young! I was also interviewed at work on American TV when I lived there, they talked to me for about 10 minutes about my work and then broadcast about 5 seconds of what I said……

      I was at Wimbledon during the Olympics and was painting a union jack on my friend’s face and we got interviewed for a news programme in New Zealand… I never got to see it aired though

      Yes, a couple of years ago I was on the local news talking about the different stages of sleep. I connected electrodes to a friend’s head and whilst they slept in the room next door, I showed the news presenter what his brain waves looked like in the different stages of sleep…very cool!

      I was in the news once when I was young as part of an orchestra. I’ve played the trompete for many years and once we were invited to a TV show to play there.
