• Question: does the amount of zaps you do depend on the type of cnacer?

      Kind of, and what the tumour is close to. I you have a prostate tumour you’ll tend to have more beams zapping at different angles because we have to avoid giving too much radiation to the rectum, bladder, femoral heads. Sometimes the machine delivers continuous radiation and rotates around the patient.

      The whole point is to maximise the amount of radiation being delivered to the tumour, and minimise the amount going to healthy tissue, this can be done by increasing the number of beams/zaps 🙂
