I interact with both. I treat patients with radioactive medicines either in a room or sometimes in surgery. I also teach uni students quite a lot because my Department is part of a University.

Yes. We always have students coming through the department, we are a teaching hospital so we help to train physics, radiographer students and doctors in training, as well as visits from MSc students at the university and school pupils interested in finding out what we do.

I don’t have as much interaction with the patients as say the doctors or radiographers, but I do have a lot of contact with them, more so when we are asked our advice on the treatments or are involved in their operations.

@gordonfreeman, Yes i work with patients on a daily basis in the theatre or on the wards. We also have a lot of student visitors who come along to see what we do to help them decide if they want a career in our area. I also supervise trainee scientists who are on placement with us. Some of the research projects that i do are linked with Durham university and so i work alongside students and lectures for those.
